QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS FRAGRANCE
Does the rum in Tuhfa Noir actually smell boozy?
Does the rum in Tuhfa Noir actually smell boozy?
A little, and in a good way. The rum and amaretto give the opening a dark, liqueur-like richness rather than anything sharp or alcoholic. Blackcurrant adds a tart, jammy edge and a splash of bergamot keeps the first few minutes bright. Within half an hour the boozy feel fades into the patchouli and amber, so what stays on your skin is warm and smooth, not like you've walked out of a bar.
Is Tuhfa Noir better for evenings or can I wear it during the day?
Is Tuhfa Noir better for evenings or can I wear it during the day?
It's happiest after sunset. The amber, tonka, and labdanum base has real depth, and that's what makes it feel like an evening or occasion scent. That said, one or two sprays in the morning is perfectly wearable, especially in cooler months or air-conditioned offices, since the patchouli and sandalwood keep it grounded. Go heavier only when you want it to be noticed.
What's the difference between Tuhfa Noir and Tuhfa Nude?
What's the difference between Tuhfa Noir and Tuhfa Nude?
Same family, opposite moods. Nude is the soft one: coconut, vanilla, and white musk that stays close to the skin. Noir is the dramatic sibler, with boozy fruit up front and a resinous amber-vanilla base that carries further. If you like your fragrance quiet and cosy, Nude. If you want warmth with presence, Noir. Plenty of people end up with both and switch between day and night.
Will Tuhfa Noir project or does it stay close to the skin?
Will Tuhfa Noir project or does it stay close to the skin?
It has more reach than most of the Tuhfa line. The amber and benzoin base radiates a gentle trail for the first few hours, then settles into a soft vanilla-tonka skin scent that lingers well into the next morning if you've sprayed on clothing. On skin alone, expect a solid full day. Moisturised skin and a spray at the base of the neck help it hold and diffuse the longest.
